Why do we dress up in Halloween costumes each October? Sales for Halloween products such as dress-up and masquerade costumes and makeup and candy have skyrocketed over recent years.

Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear A lot of people, when they decorate for Halloween, enjoy doing up their houses with lots of cobwebs and mummies and such, and even a corpse or ghoul or two (or three). There's something quite appropriate for Halloween in leaning towards a theme highlighting the dead. In Mexico they have a holiday called Day of the Dead. The Voodoo religion probably originated in Haiti and it has brought a popular theme to any Halloween night -- zombies! The more tattered they look, the better. Movies that feature zombies seem to get wilder and more creative every year, so there's lots of inspiration everywhere you look.
